Second Legend for Symphonic Winds & Percussion

Barton McLean

About this work:

This is the third work for symphonic winds & percussion, and represents a significant change from the previous two (Rondo for Band and Legend #1) in that is is more harmonically adventurous, and is more idiomatic for the band, having a more martial feel.   It never received a performance but this recording is from a reading session by the Western Michigan University Wind Ensemble and gives a fair idea of the piece.  I conducted.
