The Children are Still Crying

Stan Grill

About this work:

This music was written in response to the failure of the Trump administration, despite a court order, to re-unite all of the children who they separated from the parents in a misguided effort to discourage families from fleeing poverty and violence in their home countries in Central America. The music is a sequel to The Children are Crying, which was composed as the extent of this heartless policy was first brought to light by the press. Months later, the saga continues, as it becomes evident that the administration deported adults whose children remained detained in the United States, apparently without the slightest concern for the people they were harming. Whoever cannot hear the crying is emotionally deaf.
