composition, that was given its premiere last Sunday to a sold-out audience
of delighted toddlers and enchanted parents. Goldilocks is the child of a
well-established composer, Judith Lang Zaimont...she stays in the
mainstream of musical tradition and writes directly to the very young, who
respond readily and warmly. The opera was superb. More than that it is a
significant contribution to the survival of the species: it reaches the pre-11
audience and shows us that opera is to be enjoyed."
