Ringing

Victoria Bond

About this work:
Commissioned by the Houston Symphony as part of their sesquicentennial celebration, and based on the folksong "Deep in the Heart of Texas", Ringing fragments the familiar melody in an Ives-like mosaic. "A jubilant fanfare built on mutated fragments of a Texas folksong and inspired by the clanging of bells." The Cape Codder. "A challenging, heroic work showcasing the brass and string sections."
