About this work:
this piece is in 4 movements. It was composed for early instruments, but can just as easily be played using modern instruments - piano instead of harpsichord, etc. 1) Quintus. With oboe d'amore. based on 5ths. The use of melody in two parts. 2) North Port. With oboe. A further development of two-part melody, this movement is based on a short piece from "The Sacred Harp". 3) Parting. Oboe d'amore. An arrangement of a short piece from "Southern Harmony". 4) Perpetuum. Oboe. A perpetual motion, somewhat like a hornpipe. This work is available through me. Just e-mail me for more information.
