Changes 3: Palindromes

Paul A. Epstein

About this work:
Please contact the composer directly for performance materials. A palindromic melodic pattern gradually and systematically unfolds, starting with its first and last notes only and adding adjacent notes in pairs until the pattern is completed at its center. In a second, concurrent process, each expanded version of the pattern contracts to its center and back before the next expansion. The evolving melody is accompanied throughout by a series of drones.
