About this work:
A bluesy musical theatre piece with book and lyrics by Philip S. Goodman, based on the novel by Jefferson Young. Set in rural Mississippi, 1946, the story is about a black tenant farmer and his family. In December 2002, early drafts of the show were read at both the Dramatists Guild and the Actor's Studio in New York.  The first full reading is planned for Fall 2003 at Musical Theatre Works in NY.
