About this work:
Written in a lyrical style. This piece is written for a full Balinese gamelan with two solo flutes. There is a limited use of extended techniques but only in the gamelan orchestra. Gamelan instrumentation includes: 2 Pemeda; 2 Jublag; 2 Riong, gong and a bell tree. Based on this anonymous text: I am a nightingale of the secret sky. I have watched many swans float by on the waves of the hidden river. I fly from one garden to the next. A rose is my mosque, and my text is the grace of the marvelous giver.
