Racconto for piano solo

Lawrence Moss

About this work:
"Racconto" means "to tell a story" in Italian. The title alludes to the hidden "story" behind the work, much as is found in the Chopin Ballades. "Racconto" is an intensely dramatic work, with sudden changes of mood. A fine vehicle for a virtuoso pianist. "My own favorites are the densely dissonant (yet lyrical) "Racconto" by Lawrence Moss..." (Elliott Schwartz in "21st Century Music", March 2000) "Especially recommended is" Racconto "by Lawrence Moss; ;this eloquent , inspired piece, built almost exclusively of small fragments which are then repeated in embellished fashion, is tightly constructed, well paced, and excwellently written." David Cleary in "21st Century Music", April, 2001. "Racconto" is published by A.P.N.M. (Association for the Promotion of New Music; dbm@subitomusic.com)) and is recorded by John McGinn on AmCam Recordings ACR-10312
