Lifelines for solo clarinet & tape

Lawrence Moss

About this work:
"Lifelines" was written for the noted virtuoso clarinettist, Esther Lamneck. The tape features electronically modifed samples of her playing. It is published by Roncorp Publications (www.roncorpmusic.com) and is performed by Esther Lamneck on "Unseen leaves" produced by electronic music foundation (www.emf.org): emf CD 045. Dary John Mizelle says of her performance, in New Music Connoisseur (Fall/Winter 2008): "Lifelines uses intricately interwoven lines between clarinet and electronic music. Particularly effective are Ms. Lamneck's use of alternate fingerings to create timbre shifts and multiphonics. The prerecorded part has some fascinating percussive timbres." "Lifelines" is also available on a recently (2007) released CD featuring Esther Lamneck performing various other works by American composers (innova 673)
