Little Nemo in Slumberland

Karen Amrhein

About this work:
Little Nemo in Slumberland is a ballet for orchestra inspired by the groundbreaking early 20th C. comic strip by Winsor McCay. The work depicts Little Nemo's dream-adventures and the Slumberland characters he encounters. This tonal / modal composition is very melodic and contrapuntal (even featuring a fugue), and unfolds like a series of variations. The music is, alternatively, noble, comical, lyrical, and generally expressive. Score and Parts (and audio samples) are available via: www.happylemonmusicpublishing.com
