About this work:
As the title suggests, the work was written for the composer’s granddaughter and was dedicated to her in 1999, the year of her birth.
Using the gentle color schemes of the solos guitar, the composer attempts to create a mood appropriately associated with a child’s serenity. The guitar solo part, quite lyrical in nature, especially conveys innocence and naivetè.
The arpeggiated chordal procedures, which are consistently and persistently used against a very rich melodic upper line, tend to romanticize the overall character of the work. The form is expressed as a ABA’.
