Peasant's Song

Ernesto P. Pellegrini

About this work:
Publisher: Arizona Recordings. Clifford Tretick commissioned this work on the occasion of the 21st Annual Convention of the National Flute Association which took place in Boston, MA in 1993. Again, as with many of the composer’s more recent works, the musical source is an Italian folk song, and it is written in a free manner, much like an improvisation. The folk melody, as indicated in the title, originates from the Roman countryside of Italy.
