The Jewel Treasure of the Ocean

Michael Robinson

About this work:
The Jewel Treasure of the Ocean is the new name for my third symphony, originally scored for full orchestra. I based this composition on the four seasons, beginning with Summer, followed by Autumn and Winter, and concluding with Spring. On this recording, I have used a limpid vibraphone timbre to clearly illuminate the individual parts. The first movement uses a slow-moving diatonic melody as it’s theme. The second movement is playful and rhythmic, the third movement is more dramatic, and the concluding movement moves at a brisk tempo. - Michael Robinson, Lahaina, December 2000 © 2000 by Michael Robinson All rights reserved
