#@&%!* (Expletive Deleted)

Andrea Reinkemeyer

About this work:

#@&%!* (expletive deleted) for Percussion Quartet was completed and premiered in Ann Arbor, MI in December 2000. It is a dynamic piece (in all senses of the word) which exhibits a heightened state of frenetic energy through explosive outbursts and a bubbling undercurrent of churning rhythmic figures. This work exhibits the influence of rock, world music and my complete infatuation with the flexibility and virtuosity of the percussion ensemble. The title reflects the demanding physicality of this piece which requires performers to use both of their hands and feet at the same time to play their part. In fact, I was once told that the expletive should have been inserted!
