About this work:
Man's Best Friend is the 5th of seven works from my collection, “Seven Ooblagatos for Improvised Piano.” These “stream of consciousness” improvisations were my first attempt at creating a collection of such works. Not a misspelling, the title is a taunt not of "classical" music, but of the rigidity and determination of those in the jazz world, to keep this wondrously creative art form in its infancy.
