In the House at Ipatiev

Jennifer Byers

About this work:
In the House at Ipatiev was written as the final remains of Czar Nicholas II's, the last Czar of Russia, household were being uncovered. On the eve of the Revolution, 7/17/1918, the Czar's home at Ipatiev was stormed by Bolsheviks. It was thought that the beloved Anastasia had survived the attack; however, as the final remains were analyzed, her body was also uncovered. Thus the movements' titles depict the events as well as the innocence of the children.
