 This composition is one of the earliest works in the repertoire of Daniel McCarthy.  It was award the Connie Weldon Prize for Tuba solo and chamber ensemble, sponsored by The  University of Miami (FL) and Michigan State University for Tuba United Brotherhood Association.  It was premiered at the Interlochen Arts Camp by David Randolph, tuba soloist.
