About this work:
Rimbadance was commissioned by the Atlantis Percussion Duo in January, 2000 and completed in the same month. Typical of McCarthy’s marimba and percussion music, this is a highly virtuosic piece for both performers with an extensive harmonic pallet and driving, animated rhythms. The Atlantis Percussion Duo is performing the world premier of Rimbadance on this concert.
