Millennium Overture Dance

Allan Crossman

About this work:
Millennium Overture Dance (1999) was written for North/South Consonance. It is both a welcome piece for the new millennium, as it “hits the ground running” with playfulness and passion, and a dance piece, with its insistent rhythms and instrumental interplay. After the rousing opening sections, the music becomes quiet and more plaintive, reflecting on certain darker events of the century past. But, somehow, the optimism returns, and we dive back into the celebration of things to come.
