Beowulf Orchestral Suite

John Craton

About this work:
This suite, which depicts the major events in the life of the hero in the medieval epic Beowulf, was composed in 2000 for a consort of ancient instruments. Having never successfully coerced an early music ensemble into attempting it, I reworked the score in 2005 for a modern orchestra. The full orchestral version is approximately 50 minutes in length. The scores presented here have been tweaked to play back better through Scorch, but clean performance scores are available on request.
