Phobophobica

Dennis Aman

About this work:
Phobophobica for String Quartet and Electronics (2005) draws heavily on audio samples and musical quotes taken from the String Quartet repertoire. Also in the audio track is a reading of phobias, albeit manipulated. Some of the more perculiar phobias included are "Zemmiphobia- Fear Of The Great Mole Rat" presumably a fictitious phobia as well as a bogus animal, yet a number of companies advertising on the Internet promise treatment plans for overcoming all manner of irrational fears including treatments customized for those suffering from fear of the great mole rat. Phobophobica was premeired in November 2005 at the Is Arti festival in Kaunas, Lithuania.
