About this work:
Waking in New York is an unusual operatic setting of the poetry of Allen Ginsberg. It has been called a rock opera although it is operatic in its vocal setting. The orchestration is classical with the addition of percussion and drums. The piece had several workshop productions including the the New York City Opera VOX series (2004).
