This piece was commissioned by Christ Church Episcopal, New Haven, CT (Robert Lehman, dir.). It is a setting of Mark 14:32-15:47 (NRSV translation) intended for liturgical use on Palm Sunday, Episcopal Year B. The piece includes an organ drone and 3 vocal soloists and adapts tunes by Daniel Read, an American composer who lived in New Haven during the time of the American Revolution.
