MAPPING VENUS is a two act opera for 3 sopranos, 6 mezzos and one contralto, SSA chorus and orchestra with electronic tape optional. Texts are by Gertrude Stein, Sorrel Hays, Clarice Lispector, Simone De Beauvoir, Jessamyn West and other women who map the planet Venus, exploring the landscapes of female consciousness. Texts are in 8 languages. Based on the radio opera "Dream in Her Mind" 1985 commissioned by Westdeutscher Rundfunk Köln.
