About this work:
For five flutes (+alto/picc). Score alternates between unsynchronized and synchronized sections. Based on the composer's experience at Scheviningen Beach, Holland, where cylindrical fence posts from WWII defenses were sighing with the winds blowing in from the English Channel. Composed for the Muramatsu Quintet. Pitch bends figure in the unsynchornized sections. The Ode to St. Ceclia melody is woven into a final section.
