Poems by three Spanish poets (Raphael Alberti, Federico Garcia Lorca, Vicente Alexandre) are set in English translations for bass-baritone and string quartet. The vocal part is highly dramatic, espcially in the second song. Mostly conjunct vocal lines and free uses of tonality and atonality.
