About this work:
Originally commissioned by Santa Clara University for pianist Teresa McCollough and two percussionists, the piece underwent some evolution to come out the other side as a Piano Trio. Using salsa piano riffs as a generative starting point (though not a salsa piece by any stretch), the piece also combines elements of jazz, tango and (post)minimalism.
