Four Canonic Etudes for Flute Duo
Allen Brings
About this work:
A "romp," in which music expressive of varying characters, sometimes exuberant, sometimes introspective, grows out of a procedure often thought to be dry and calculating but which is here always the means to an aesthetic end. The two flutists will discover as they learn to play the music what the special canonic relationship is between their parts, something that their audience will only wonder about.
