Poétique des Fluides
Philippe Bodin
About this work:
A piano trio dealing with water in different forms: fluid, frozen, boiling. In three contrasting movements. The first one in a long palindromic arch with elongating themes. The second featuring two emotional solos (cello, then violin) framed by a theme presented in canons in inversion. The third one being an all-out breathless pursuit, with an overarching meter scheme: 12, 11, 10, 9, ... until 4, 3, 2 and ultimate dissolution.
