The Selfish Giant

About this work:
The Selfish Giant is a children's musical based on a short story by Oscar Wilde. The story describes how children and one boy in particular redeem a selfish, nasty Giant. The Selfish Giant can be performed with minimal staging as was the premier performance in London. The work scored for children's chorus, narrator, Giant and 13 instrumentalists is unusual in that all the music is sung by a large children's chorus and targeted specifically to an audience of children between the ages of about 5-11 years of age. Performances of the The Selfish Giant are particularly appropriate during the Christmas and Easter seasons.
