somatic dimorphism

Andrea La Rose

About this work:
The term somatic dimorphism refers to the primarily Western idea the mind and body are two separate and distinct entities. The belief that these two entities are constantly at war with one another has also manifested itself deeply in Western thought. I was reacquainted with this term while I was writing this piece. The instrumentation lent itself to being divided into two similar groups, and I wanted to have the two groups do basically the same thing but each in their own contrasting way.
