FISHERMAN’S SONG

Chen Yi

About this work:
The pentatonic melody represented in the beginning (on violin) and the ending part (on piano, with supporting lines on violin) is in singable Cantonese folk song style. The middle part, as a contrast, is more active and energetic, with a momentum brought to a climax before the recap. Fisherman Song has been given the US premiere at Ms. Hong-ying Ho's San Francisco debut recital on March 10, 1996, and published by Theodore Presser Company in 1999 [114-4-950].
