Camp Springs

Gary Belshaw

About this work:
Although not born there, the composer spent most of his youth in Camp Springs, Maryland, and considers this quiet community in the shadow of Andrews Air Force Base to be his home town. This composition is dedicated to that sense of home with which all of us endow some community, somewhere. The simple tune speaks of joy and contentment, with a hint of melancholy such as might be experienced by those whose home town is not their current address.
