Chen Yi: Blue, Blue Sky for orchestra (2012). Inspired by the pure and delicate timbre and tune of Tibetan bamboo flute Xiong Ling, the composer looks out into the distance under the blue sky, in a peaceful and serene state of mind. The work is composed to celebrate the Beijing Modern Music Festival 10th anniversary, and premiered by the China National Center for the Performing Arts Orchestra, conducted by Lu Jia at the CNCPA on May 19, 2012 in Beijing, China. Scored for 2222, 4231, T, P(3), Pn, Hp, Str.
