Sage Songs About Life and Thyme

Priscilla McLean

About this work:

These songs are a philosophical, sometimes humorous, and ironic look at the meaning of life and death.  Affected by her mother's death in 1990, the composer had to express these feelings in music, and she has sung these songs privately for years as warm-ups for her tours with her husband as The McLean Mix.  Each song has its own personality, and stands on its own, while being enjoyable to sing.

This performance is by Priscilla McLean, soprano, and Susan Aceto, pianist.  Six songs were recorded on the Capstone Records label (here as MP3), omitting song #4: "Is Life Just One Big...?".
