A challenging work for both instruments although no unusual techniques are required. The challenges are those confronted by any musician experienced in the performance of the standard repertory in which expressivity can be achieved only by paying close attention to dynamics and articulation and by understanding the role that the other instrument has been given to play, a role that, while both similar and equal in significance, is nevertheless different in innumerable details that must also be clearly displayed.
