Flying Dancers for alto flute, contrabassoon and cello (2024)

 

The trio Flying Dancers was written for alto flute, contrabassoon and cello as part of the Composers Conference 80th Anniversary celebration 8 for 80 Commission Project. The music was inspired by the gestures of the flying dancers which were carved in the Dunhuang cave on the Silkroad in Chinese history.

 

Flying Dancers was performed by members of the Conference Ensemble, under the direction of Music Director and conductor Vimbayi Kaziboni, to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Composers Conference. The performance includes the following musicians: Barry Crawford (Alto Flute), Adrian Morejon (Contrabassoon) and Josh Gordon (Cello) at the 80th Composers Conference in Avaloch Farm Music Institute in Boscawen, NH on August 4, 2024. The duration is 4 minutes.
