Northeastern Songs

Andy Cohen

About this work:
Northeatsern Songs is a setting of texts by three well-known 19-Century American writers & poets: Herman Melville, Walt Whitman, and Ralph Waldo Emerson. The texts chosen all reflect on the character or nature of life in the Northeastern United States/New England Area. The music is tonal and vernacular-influenced, yet with just enough consternation to add the proper touch of New England severity. It's also damn fun to sing.
