Andy Cohen (b. 1973, Miami, FL) is a classically-trained composer who makes his living writing music and doing sound and technology design work for theater productions in New York City. His music has been performed in venues such as Lincoln Center and Fordham University, as well as in prestigious off- and off-off-Broadway theaters such as HERE, La Mama, PS 122, and the New York International Fringe Festival. His classical compositions have been performed by orchestras and chamber ensembles across the country, and his upcoming projects include commissions for chamber groups based in New York and in California. Andy currently resides in Brooklyn, NY, and holds degrees in music composition and theory from Oberlin Conservatory and the Manhattan School of Music, where he was a student of Aaron Jay Kernis, Pierre Charvet, and Richard Danielpour.
