Resurrexi

Timothy J. Brown

About this work:
This work is derived from the Easter plainchant, Resurrexi. It makes use of the organ pedals alone to introduce the chant, with bursts on the manuals, which are in turn taken up by the other instruments. It would make a lovely prelude for Easter Sunday. It is scored for brass quintet, percussion, timpani, marimba, and organ. Choreography or liturgical dance could easily be created for this work.
