The Silence of Winter
Stan Grill
About this work:
Winter is a quiet season. During the months of cold, the birds fall silent. Sounds do not seem to carry as they do in the thicker air of summer. When snow is silently falling, all seems quite and timeless. It is that sense of a timeless, quiet world, waiting perhaps for something, or not, that this music attempts to capture.
We humans may be caught up in our own affairs, but the world goes on. If we destroy it as a habitable home, we will destroy ourselves – but the world will come back and live on – without us.
