"1918" sets five poems from Ellen Bryant Voigt's "Kyrie" - a book of sonnets reflecting on life during the 1918 flu pandemic. Originally composed for mezzo and a quartet consisting of 1 violin, 2 violas and cello, I arranged it also for string orchestra for a performance by Sinfonia Toronto, with mezzo soprano Beste Kalender.
