Introduction And Allegro
Martin Halpern
About this work:
After a short slow introduction featuring the bassoon, the spirited Allegro is built on contrapuntal dialogues which often set two of the instruments against the third. The structure is a traditional sonata-allegro, with a development section that shifts from duple to triple meter, and a recapitulaton and brief coda in the original duple meter.
