Plaint for a prince and king
Joelle Wallach
About this work:
Plaint for a Prince and King, written for men’s choir with either brass and percussion or with piano, is a setting of the Biblical David’s horror, regret and sorrow at his having killed his closest companion, Jonathan, in battle. As such it stands, as does the Biblical texts, for the devastating personal and moral consequences of war – as relevant to the wars of today as to those of Biblical times.
