Born in Ukraine, Lyudmila came to the US in 1993. She has earned degrees from Brooklyn College and the Manhattan School of Music, studying with Noah Creshevsky, Tanya Leon, and Nils Vigeland.
Lyudmila's compositions include works of various genres and media: percussion, chamber, choral, vocal, and electronic music. Her music has been performed in New York City, Boston, Tampa, FL, Latvia and Japan.
She has been a recipient of Brooklyn College Miriam Gideon Scholarship (1995), Meet the Composer grant (1996), Ivar Mikhashoff grant (2000), Cantate Chamber Singers Award (2004), and Robert Helps Prize (2009).
