"One of new music's truly free spirits,"* and a "remarkable experimentalist,"** Eve Beglarian is a composer, performer, and audio producer whose chamber and orchestral music has been commissioned and performed by the California EAR Unit, Relâche, the Paul Dresher Ensemble, Orchestra X, the Crosstown Ensemble, Sequitur, Dinosaur Annex, and the New York Festival of Song, among many others.
Her experience in music theater includes music for Mabou Mines' _Animal Magnetism_ and _Ecco Porco_, directed by Lee Breuer; the collaboration _Hildegurls' Ordo Virtutum_, directed by Grethe Barrett Holby, which premiered at the Lincoln Center Festival; _twisted tutu_, a performance project with Kathleen Supové; _Forgiveness_, a collaboration with Chen Shi-Zheng and Noh master Akira Matsui; and the China National Beijing Opera Theater's production of _The Bacchae_, also directed by Chen Shi-Zheng.
Current projects include an opera based on Stephen King's _The Man in the Black Suit_ with co-librettist and director Grethe Holby; a Meet the Composer co-commission for _The Bilitis Project_, a song cycle/concept CD with boombox virtuoso and composer Phil Kline; a People's Commissioning Fund commission for the Bang on a Can All-Stars; and _A Book of Days_, a long-term project of 365 multimedia pieces for live performance as well as internet delivery.
