Charles McCracken Recital: Works for Bassoon
World premiere of Elegy for two bassoons and piano by Robert Paterson. This work was commissioned by Charles McCracken and Gordon Harris through the American Composers Forum.
The program will include two other 20th century works, a transcription of Debutante by Herbert L. Clarke and the rarely heard Sonata for Bassoon and Piano by Alvin Etler, as well as Baroque works by Zelenka and Corrette. Charles will be joined by Gilbert Dejean, bassoon and Elizabeth DiFelice, piano. Gilbert and Charles are both members of the American Symphony Orchestra's bassoon section.

American Modern Ensemble concert: Women Who Rock
Entitled Women Who Rock, this program features music by eight of America's most exciting composers, including American Academy Award-winner Augusta Read Thomas, New York's own Missy Mazzoli, Vivian Fung and Alexandra du Bois. We will also perform music by Gabriella Frank, Hannah Lash, Roshanne Etezady and Laura Schwendinger. AME's Artistic Director Rob Paterson will interview the composers, and the concert will be followed by a reception where audience members can meet all of the artists and composers.
